We know that as things like bars & restaurants start to open up, it may become tempting to be in attendance. However, in order to fully stop the spread, we must still be very conscious of our choices when it comes to interacting with one another during a pandemic. Always wear your mask, use hand sanitizer when necessary, and always wash your hands (if it wasn’t obvious enough already!). But, just because we have to be safe doesn’t mean we cannot have fun. We have compiled a list of social distancing activities that we think will cure any summer blues.

  1. Take Out & a Picnic in the Park

This is a great way to support your favorite local restaurants while also spending some time outside without being too close to others. Enjoy a meal alone, with your roommates, or with your family. If you plan on being with others outside of your immediate household, make sure to follow the social distancing guidelines so that we can all continue to enjoy the parks!

  1. Get Creative!

Take it from Lexie herself - she's been spending so much time getting creative. One way is through tie-dyeing! I’m sure there are some really great creative projects you’ve always wanted to work on, whether that be a painting, a drawing, baking a cake, or even sewing. Order some art supplies straight to your house and if you need instruction, throw on a Youtube video or even a Bob Ross tape and get to work!

  1. Meditate/Self-Care Practices

Via Minds We Have

This is one of our favorites. During the time of quarantine, we have spent more time with ourselves than ever. This can get difficult when you are constantly with your own thoughts. This is a good time to explore different self-care options such as meditation, journaling, exercising, or even going back to "get creative." It’s so important that we take care of our mental health, especially during times like these. Don’t look at it as a chore – make it a part of your daily routine to do something nice for yourself each day.

  1. Get in Touch

Via Red Bubble

We haven’t seen each other in a long time and so it’s important that we do stay in touch with those we love. This is easy and can be done through a simple text, phone call, or even Facetime call. If you really want to make someone smile, send them a letter! I don’t know about you but it’s the best feeling when you open the mailbox and find a letter with your name on it – especially when it’s not a bill. J

  1. Read a Book

If you’re anything like me (@oliviaraye) then you have a stack of books that are just waiting to be read. I actually did get to finish a couple of those books during quarantine, but there are definitely more that I need to crack open. Something cool that you could do is maybe start a book club or find a book club to be a part of! This way you are held accountable for the books you are supposed to be reading!

  1. Have an At-Home Spa Day

Treat yourself to an at-home honey facialor dip your toes in the bath with some suds and give yourself a pedicure! The possibilities are endless. Maybe if you have someone living with you, you can even encourage them to give you a nice back massage. This can be a fun way to find ways to integrate different self-care approaches into your life, all while saving a couple of dollars instead of going to the salon! Of course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a much-needed spa day here and there.

  1. Shop Online

Via Lexie

Well since we are a boutique we just have to throw this one in there! There really is nothing more fun than surfing the internet and trying to find new styles and brands. If you sign up for our mailing list you get 10% off your first order! We are also running an extra 20% off already marked down sale. I’m sure there are other stores that are running promotions as well so be sure to check those all out and revamp your summer into fall wardrobes!

These are just a few of the different things that you can do while stuck indoors. This has been a difficult time, but it can also be a time for growth and personal awareness. Take time to re-evaluate the things in your life and what you would like to be a part of the “new normal.” Use the time to take care of yourself and the people that you love.
