Introducing our very own Lexie Ellman, Founder of--you guessed it--Lexie
Q: How many kids do you have and what are their names?
A: 2 kids: Nolan who is 4 and Brooks who is 2! 
Q: Hardest part about working and being a mom during a pandemic? Any moments that were super hard but you will look back and laugh?
A: For the first full month I committed myself only to my family as I felt I needed to make sure everyone was safe and healthy. The fact that our doors were closed made it a little easier, because there was nothing I could do to change it. Now, it's becoming easier to run the online store and take care of my family as we have a bit more of a routine. 
Q: Where is your business located and where do you live? 

A: Greenwich Village, New York! 

Q: What is Lexie all about? 

A: Having fun and making people happy. The goal was to make a store that was community-oriented and supported small businesses. We have carried so many brands that were just starting out that have grown immensely, which we are super proud of. But, mostly, it's about connecting with our customers and bringing that old school retail vibe--it's more about having people feel like they have a safe place to go shopping or even just hang out and vent. 

Q: How has the pandemic affected your business?

A: We are a classic brick and mortar so it's a struggle with our doors being closed. We luckily launched a brand new website in November so that is up and running, but it's not the same. Having all of our inventory in NYC made it difficult on top of everything else, but we're doing our best to make it work. 

Q: How can we support you? 

A: Follow @lexienewyork, shop online, shop small. We can all help each other by being supportive. Don't forget about your community and the people who you usually see every day--those people are still there even though you may not see them.

 Q: Inspirational quote?

A: "As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others." - Audrey Hepburn
